Mariam has been working as a professional actor, director, and theatre instructor for over 25 years.
A graduate of the University of Winnipeg and the National Theatre School of Canada, she has performed in theatres from Victoria to Halifax, and directed numerous musical and non-musical productions. Recent acting work includes roles in Angels in America parts 1 & 2 (WJT), A Man of No Importance and Sweeney Todd (Dry Cold). Recent directing includes Ivanov, Death of a Salesman, Betrayal, Speed-the Plow, (WJT), Dieu de Carnage for Cercle Molière, and Company and She Loves Me for Dry Cold Productions.
In addition to teaching at U of W, U of M School of Music Opera program, and MTYP, Mariam has taught children, teens, and adults at PTE, and directed their Adult Company. She has given private monologue coaching and audition preparation for over 15 years.
