Tom is an Actor, Voice and Speech Specialist and Theatre Educator. He has an MFA in Acting with a further specialization in (spoken) Voice from York University in Toronto. As a teacher, he covers topics and/or courses on Acting, Voice Production, Physical and Vocal Embodiment, Accents and Dialects, Text, Classical Theatre and Public Speaking. He has taught at York University and currently teaches acting and voice at the University of Winnipeg’s Department of Theatre and Film. He has worked as an actor for the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (RMTC), Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Shakespeare in the Ruins (SIR), Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, Rainbow Stage and Dry Cold Productions and for other independent theatre companies. He also worked as a Dialect Coach for Prairie Theatre Exchange, RMTC, Rainbow Stage and Theatre Projects Manitoba. Privately, Tom coaches local actors, teaches acting based workshops, and works with clients one-on-one and in seminars on Public Speaking and Presentation Skills and which have included such organizations as CTV News Winnipeg, The Civil Service Commission (Manitoba), and the Winnipeg School Division.
