Mariam Bernstein teaches AUDITION & SCENE STUDY
One of Winnipeg’s favourite theatre professionals, Mariam Bernstein, will be teaching two classes at PTE School this year and be one of the instructors for our PTE @ PTE professional training program. Mariam, a well-loved actress and director, will bring her expertise to adult students in our Audition and Scene Study classes. Both classes start the week of October 06th.
The SCENE STUDY: (Tuesdays) If you have already completed one or more acting classes and want to be challenged, this class is for you. Explore you acting skills, with a focus on scene study. Students will work with a variety of dramatic texts.
The AUDITION CLASS: (Wednesdays) is designed to demystify the audition process by introducing you to the basics of auditioning for theatre . Learn about the acting business, preparation, presentation and protocol, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the actors, directors, agents and producers.
Mariam has been working as a professional actor, director, and theatre instructor for over 25 years.
A graduate of the University of Winnipeg and the National Theatre School of Canada, she has performed in theatres from Victoria to Halifax, and directed numerous musical and non-musical productions. Recent acting work includes roles in Angels in America parts 1 & 2 (WJT), A Man of No Importance and Sweeney Todd (Dry Cold). Recent directing includes Ivanov, Death of a Salesman, Betrayal, Speed-the Plow, (WJT), Dieu de Carnage for Cercle Molière, and Company and She Loves Me for Dry Cold Productions.
