PTE @ PTE Alumni Speak
Here is what some of our Alumni have said about the Professional Training Ensemble at Prairie Theatre Exchange (PTE @ PTE);
AUDITIONS for the 2015 PTE @ PTE Program are on December 09, 2014. Call (204) 925-5253 to book your audition.
PTE @ PTE offers an exciting opportunity to learn practical and applicable skills from local industry leaders.
Their wealth of experience, combined with the chance to work alongside other serious emerging artists, will challenge and inspire you not only as an actor, but as a theatre artist.

PTE @ PTE was definitely one the best decisions I have made for my career. I met, and was taught by so many working professionals, it helped me get my name into the community and make connections with people who are making a living in the industry.
It’s a super intense program that takes focus, and drive and what you get out of it is totally up to you, but I came out with better awareness and a whole bunch more tools in my tool box.

PTE @ PTE was a doorway for me to integrate myself in the Winnipeg theatre community and to network with emerging artists while learning from local industry professionals. A great stepping stone on the way to a career in theatre.
PTE@PTE is a smart step for any actor looking to make their way into the professional world of theatre and film. It’s not an easy program. It demands a lot of time, and will stretch you as an actor, which is exhausting. But this is what makes it so great. The instructors are working professionals with years of experience, who will pin point your areas of strength and weakness, and challenge you to develop your skills so you can start making an impression in the audition room and on stage.
In addition to the excellent training, the program also connects you with other actors that are serious about their commitment to growing as an artist. So many of us that took the program continue to collaborate.
I’m so glad that I took the program. I am a more confident actor because of it.
I enrolled in the PTE@PTE Program a few years ago. It was an amazing experience. It was where I began to learn how to get more specific about my choices as an actor. It’s a place to grow, explore, take risks, delve deep into story, and learn how to enter the acting industry as a professional.
The instructors are fantastic, each with unique skills. They will be there for you as a resource if you ever need advice. The ensemble gets to work very closely together, and I made friends I still have today.
My class did a production of “The Laramie Project” at the end of the program, and it was a great opportunity to test our skills and implement our learning.
PTE@PTE is valuable for both the new actor and experienced professional. I recommend it to anyone looking to have some fun, learn more about their craft, and tune up their instrument.

The PTE@PTE program provided me with broad-based training in theatrical fundamentals and introduction to the business of being a performer. The training and contacts that I cultivated from my experience in the program have been invaluable in breaking into the industry of being a working actor.
I highly recommend the program to anyone who has performance experience, but wants to take their career to the professional level.
The instructors are working professionals, with an understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry.
As an alumnus of this program, I can not speak highly enough of its value!
Since taking the first PTE @ PTE training in 2009:
I have achieved Actra-Apprentice Status, been cast in a commercial, a feature film (in a scene opposite Jennifer Connelly–with lines!), a documentary (MTS Stories from Home), and a short.
I’ve auditioned for several professional productions in Winnipeg for film, television series, television commercials, voice-over, and theatre.
I auditioned and performed in the 2010 Master Playwrights Festival (Caryl Churchill-Fest) for Theatre Incarnate;
and was involved in the creation of the 2009 FemFest Forum Theatre Production, No Offense, and acted as ‘Joker’ (MC/Facilitator) for its 2010 high school tour.
I’ve also written and self-produced three successful Fringe Festival projects; Breast Friends, Stretchmarks, & Mittelschmerz–nominated for the Manitoba Association of Playwrights’ Harry Rintoul Award for Best New Manitoba Play.
–AND for much of it, I’ve gotten paid! (Which is always a nice bonus!)
I encourage you to check it out, and seriously consider participating.”
